The Old Man Across The Road

The man across the road I say
He asked me to pay
He'd lay
and play
That's the old man across the road

Millie, age 8, England

It blows as we run past.
My hair will fly as the wind blows.
The leaves will make a rustling sound
The water will gently swish around.
WIND

Taylor, age 11, Australia

I Know He Loves Me

He looked into my eyes
I looked back in his
He knew he'd won the prize
I was only called Liz

He held hands with me
I held hands with him
He could see
I was a little dim!

Millie, age 8, England

Lovers exist in my life
But haters are Trash!!

Jasmine, age 11

I am sad.
I am lonely.
I wish for happy.
I want to be whisked away by my time Lord.
I want to be rescued by a letter to Hogwarts.
I want to have adventures when I'm picked up to go to Camp Half Blood.
I wish for happy.
Remember, someone is always in a worse situation than you.

Gracie, age 11, USA

Vending Machine

You sat there, cold and weary,
while your contents were wild and cheery.
Sometimes you sit on the grassy green land,
but other times you sit like a hobo in the sand.
I like to eat your little snacks,
when they come in those fun sized packs.
I can't say you're a doll, for you were not sewn,
but you have no family, you're all on your own.
I can't say you're nice, nor can I say you're mean,
but I really do love you, Vending Machine.

Emily, age 13, USA

Red stars,
Purple jars,
What kind of land could this be?
Funny clowns,
Ups and downs,
I don't get it, what could it be?
Orange dogs,
Blue frogs,
Please tell me what could it be?!
Maybe over the rainbow?
Maybe millions of light years away?
Tell me!
Do you know?

Kate, age 9, USA

Nature's Beauty

When I got up I saw the sun, the art of nature
when I walked I saw the greenery of nature, the plants, trees
when I was dancing I saw my own art down at my feet, my own shadow
when I was going to sleep I saw the light of nature, the moon
when I got up I saw that it was the dream of nature

Syeda, age 9, India

When you have a best friend
you want it to never end
When somebody steals her
you get angry or mad
you want to throw a fit
you get her back, you're happy as me!

Aubraysha, age 10, USA

There once was a girl who was fat.
The chair always broke when she sat.
She went everywhere
and broke every chair
Until every chair had gone "SPLAT!"

Emily, age 13, USA

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Chocolate and sugar are sweet
And so are you

But now the roses have wilted
The violets are dead
The chocolate has melted
The sugar is yucky
And so is your head!

My Favourite Things

I like loads of stuff
And the list is really long
So I'll put all of the stuff
Into a song

There's JLS and Conor Maynard
Snow days, pizza and ice cream
And also Lawson and snowball fights
Watching telly and having dreams

There's also "Rise of the Guardians"
A film I have on DVD
Jack Frost and the Sandman are awesome
And so is my friend James Galley

Seeing frost appear on my window
And being with my friends
Snow and frost, coffee too
The list of things has no end
And not forgetting One Direction
Ditto Liam Payne
And Louis Tomlinson
And I also like chocolate

I could go on, but it'll take forever
My friends and I like being together
I like swimming and drinking Lucozade
These are my favourite things
And also building snowmen
Ditto drinking Powerade

That's all I can think of, I'm afraid
And those are my favourite things
