Braided Jump Rope
Dear Squigly,
I am going to tell you how to make a Braided Bead Jump Rope.
By Sierra, age 10, U.S.A.
What you need:
| 3 pieces of coloured yarn | |
| Different kinds of beads | |
| Scissors | |
| |
Tape or a little heavy rock |
What you do:
| 1. | Take the three pieces of yarn and make them the same size
as a jump rope, you can use an old jump rope as your measuring tool. |
| 2. | When the first piece of yarn is the correct size cut it at
the end then put another piece of yarn up to the first piece and snip it
off at the end. Do the same with the third piece of yarn. |
| 3. | Tie the three pieces of yarn together with a sturdy knot. |
| 4. | Tape the three pieces of yarn to a table or something sturdy
or use a rock to hold the yarn down. |
| 5. | Once you have the yarn firmly secured, begin
braiding the three pieces of yarn. Whenever you want, stop braiding and
stick a bead on the middle string and start braiding again. Continue doing
this until you have braided all the yarn. |
| 6. | Tie a knot at the end and enjoy your braided jump rope. |
